The natural form of alpha lipoic acid - found in humans, animals and plants has shown to normalize blood glucose in insulin resistant study subjects. R-Lipoic acid is a form of alpha lipoic acid. The “R-form” is the form that is useful by the human body. The “S-form is not. If R-Lipoic Acid is NOT stabilized it is worthless. It degrades to be unusable by heat, light and moisture. Storing un-stabilized R-Lipoic acid in a car for 1 hour on a hot day completely ruins it. DRB’s product was the first stabilized r-lipoic acid that entered the marketplace. The current version, NA-Rala, is the 2nd generation. It is shelf stable for over three years.
